Summary:
The Rental Construction Assistant supports the Rental Construction Technicians with the conversion of various rental equipment into mobile battery driven backup power sources.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assists with conducting planning, layout, wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, battery racks and control equipment according to job order.
Assists with measuring, properly mounting and installing assigned battery racks, cable trays and wire trays, conduit, electrical tray, wires and devices Assists with measuring, cut bending, thread assembling and installing electrical conduit using such tools as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender.
Assists with pulling wiring through conduit, splicing wire by stripping insulation from terminal leads with electrical knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps.
Assists with installing control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place.
Assists with disassembling and repairing defective electrical equipment or systems.
Assists with loading, transporting and unloading materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
Completes work orders and records material utilized on jobs.
Maintains tools and equipment.
Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition.
Complies with company and OSHA safety policies and regulations as well as NFPA70E, and remaining in compliance with current National Electric Code Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required, trade or military tech school a plus.
Requires basic mechanical aptitude.
Basic knowledge of electricity a plus.
Ability to follow directions.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Basic computer proficiency.
Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment and lift up to 100 lbs.
on a regular basis.
